Shamrock Rovers won their 4th successive league title in 1986/87 but already warning signs about the move out of Milltown were there;

Keely was right about Dundalk being the main threat as the Lilywhites won the league ahead of Pats and Bohs. Rovers were 4th in their first season away from Milltown.
